Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the aims of the First Aider?
Quite simply, the aims of the First Aider are to Preserve life, to Prevent further injury and to Promote recovery.

How is this possible?
These aims are only possible through qualified instruction and training. Completing a First Aid course will equip you or your staff to deal with injuries, accidents and emergencies, to the level of their training.

What is the right course?
There are many First Aid courses available, and at Alpha Aid Training we can select the right one for your particular needs.

Can I attend a course on my own?
Of course - many of our clients attend both public and professional courses as individuals. We will always accommodate and with the exception of private company groups, we will always find a date and venue suitable.

Do I receive a certificate after I complete my course?
Our courses are designed for various levels of previous or no experience. Our one day course attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance while the courses which by Health and Safety legislation require an assessment, will receive Certificates of Completion and the appropriate PHECC or FETAC Level 5 certificate.

Can you ensure our first aid kits meet Health and Safety specifications?
We are pleased to complete an audit on first aid kits if required and will make the appropriate recommendations if shortfalls occur. We can also provide replenishment if required.

Will my certificate be recognised by employers?
Employers by law are required to have a number of staff qualified in first aid at all times. Most employers look favourably on staff or potential staff with first aid qualifications.

Are Occupational First Aid courses FETAC certified?
FETAC Level 5 certificates are awarded to successful participants of our occupational first aid courses. This certificate is valid for two years, and may be extended on completion of a one day refresher course before the certificate expires.
